Iranian theocratic suppression of civil rights

I have represented several immigrants with various matters and I am always somewhat amazed by the apprehension the immigrant has towards the judicial system. When I consider from where my client has come and the judicial or political system they grew up with, this becomes easier to understand. I remember my time in Iraq and stories I was told of life without due process or equal protection and I am more grateful and respectful of our system.
